Banias Nature Reserve (click for more information)
One of the Golan Heights’ most spectacular spots, Banias Nature Reserve, also known as the Nahal Hermon Reserve, one can enjoy the Banias Cave sanctuary as well as the marvelous Banias waterfall. The grave of the prophet Elijah is marked by a white cliffside memorial is situated on the top of the hill above the cave. The highest mountain of Israel (in Golan Heights) named Mt. West Bank Barrier (click for more information)
Israel began building a 670km (420 mile) barrier in and around the occupied West Bank in 2002. This “boarder” was built up after Second Intifada, by Israeli’s government. But from the year 1968 and the Six Day War, these boarders have not changed in a radical way. With an area of 20,770 square km Israel is inhabited by 6.43 million people (Israel Central Bureau of Statistics, 2006) which causes an approximate population density 317.9 per sq km. Official languages of Israel are Hebrew and Arabic, but also other languages as, English, French, Spanish, German, Yiddish, Russian, Polish and Hungarian are widely spoken.
