Dominating feature of Vianden is medieval castle with walls. It was set up in 9th century and was partially destroyed by fire and earthquake in 17th century. It was built on the place where Roman oppidum and a Carolingian sanctuary were. There are collections of weapons, books and furniture in roman and gothic style. |
