Vietnam, also referred as Viet Nam or officially the Socialistic Republic of Vietnam, is very attractive tourist destination thankfully to its splendid nature and monuments. The country is shaped like the “S” letter and it lies in the eastern part of the Indochina Peninsula. Vietnam shares borders with China to the north, Laos and Cambodia to the west. The official language is Vietnamese and it is spoken throughout the country. The currency is Vietnamese Dong. Geographically, the land can be divided into three parts: north, central and south. In the north, you can discover beautiful mountain peaks, the Red River Delta, spectacular Halong Bay and the capital Hanoi.

In the central Vietnam, explore ancient city of Hue and natural beauty of numerous beaches, lagoons and plateaus. And finally, the south can be characterized by modern city Ho Chi Minh (formerly Saigon) and wonderful delta of Mekong River. People of Vietnam

Today Vietnam amounts more than 85 million people. There are approximately 54 ethnic minorities. About 70 % of the Vietnamese population is occupied in agriculture. Faith in Vietnam has an important influence on daily life. Most practiced religions are Buddhism, Confucianism and Taoism, sometimes with combined elements. Also followers of Ancestor-Worship, Catholicism, Islam, Cao Dai religion and Hoa Hao Sect are not rare in Vietnam.

Vietnamese Culture

Culture in Vietnam is diversified due to numerous ethnic groups and 4000-year history. Very significant cultural treasure is Vietnamese artwork. Amazing traditional sculptures, ceramic, embroidery and painting can be found throughout the country. Remarkable are also traditional festivals which usually take place in Spring or Autumn. Some of the most famous festivals are Buddha’s Birthday, Tet Han Thuc – Day of Cold Food, Tet Thanh Minh – Serene Sky, Tet Doan Ngo – Exterminating harmful insect or Tet Tao Quan – Household Gods.

Diverse landscape of Vietnam offers many facilities, such as tours to historical monuments, trekking to national parks, golf courses, diving and snorkeling in territorial waters. Vietnam’s long coastline with many beautiful beaches and romantic landscape has attracted many tourists.
