As the town of Buea is situated on the slopes of the mountain, it is point of departure for the climbing up to the top of Mt. Cameron (4095m). This volcano is also known locally as Mount Faka and "Chariot of the Gods“ and it is one of Cameroon's main tourist attractions. Every year you can take part in a race up its rocky slopes. Eruptions generally occur on the flanks of the volcano and produce small cinder cones and lava flows. |
