Why to visit Central African Republic

Central African Republic lies in the center of Africa. It is bordered by Chad in the north, Cameroon in the west, Sudan in the east and Republic of the Congo and Democratic Republic of the Congo in the south.

What to know before travelling

Central African Republic offers rainforests, wildlife, many wonderful national parks, palm and banana vine, busy markets, many souvenirs but also political chaos and poverty. Central African Republic is quite hardly accessible for tourists just because of the political chaos. Travellers should be warned against malaria. Visa can be obtained at French embassies at African countries.

The majority of the land is covered by rolling plateaus with a few low mountain ranges, the highest peak is Mont Ngaoui (1420m). Southern border is formed by Mbomou River and Ubangi River, two tributaries of the Congo River.

Climate:

South of the land is covered by tropical rainforests and the climate is very humid here. Rains usually last from May to November.

Northern part of the land is affected by dry, hot and dusty winds. The rest of the land is often flooded because of nearby rivers.

Nourishment:

Native inhabitants like to consume home made beer or banana or palm vine. Food usually consists of a main part such as rice or bananas and sauce. Africans don´t use cutlery but it is usual to offer a spoon to the tourists.
