It was set up by Olomouc’s bishop in the middle of 13th century. You can get to known Wallachian culture that is very specific. Telc is often called a Moravian Venice. Telc is famous for castle and houses in Renaissance style that are listed in UNESCO World Heritage. The castle was originally in gothic style but it was rebuilt in renaissance seat. Very important is also the fact, that Telc was seat of Jesuits who also built nice buildings. It is named after its owner Fritz Tugendhat who let it built for his family. This villa was designed by German architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1928 and finished in 1930. Building has three stages and its construction is created from steel-cage construction that holds ceramic ceilings. Also its equipment was very modern, for example modern central heating, climatic equipment and alarm system. Costs were so high that 30 common houses could be built for the same money. |

Trebic - city with Jewish Quarter (click for more information) Trebic - city with Jewish QuarterTrebic is situated on the foothills of the Czech-Moravian Highlands on the River Jihlava. It is famous for two sights that are listed in UNESCO World Heritage. First is The Jewish Quarter and the second is St Procopius' Basilica. Basilica came from the 12th century and was part of Benedictine monastery. Basilica was originally built in Romanise style and later, in 15th century was rebuilt in Baroque style. Jewish ghetto contains Jewish quarter with more than 120 houses and wide cemetery with more than 3000 tomb stone. |
