Korean traditional music and dances can be divided into court (royal family and upperclass) and folk music (common people). The music is performed on various instruments, for example oboe, metal-bell woodwind, flute, mouth organ, ocarina, zither, gong and drum. Korean music is spontaneous and full of improvisation. The most important festivals include New Year´s Day, Dano spring festival and Chuseok harvest festival.
