Trinidad and Tobago: Pre-Lenten Carnival

The Carnival is the even of the year on the Trinidad and Tobago islands. The preparations for it are huge as well as the Carnival itself is. Musical competition is one of the main attractions of the Carnival and it gives a visitor a clue about the traditional music calypso, steelpan and limbo. The competition is between various “bands” – all participants are wearing a costumes decorated with sequins and feathers. This country’s carnival is celebrated the week before Ash Wednesday.
