Trinidad and Tobago: Bird watching
Bird watching throughout Tobago is first-rate. You can find various places on the island where to do “birding” such as nature reserves, special bird parks and capital’s zoo including. The best places are Caroni swamp (includes fifteen thousand acres of marshland, tidal lagoons, and mangrove trees) and Pointe-a-Pierre on Trinidad Isle and St. Giles Island in northeast Tobago. There are 453 bird species living on the islands but the most famous and special one is the Scarlet Ibis, locally known as “flamingo”.
