French Polynesia: Heiva i Tahiti

 The biggest festival in French Polynesia. This festival is held throughout July in the capital Papeete. It is a grand event that brings inhabitants of all islands of French Polynesia together in creating the program. During the festival various games and competitions are running - on the field of music, dance and sports, too. This festival serves especially as an exhibition of traditional handcraft. The festival sulminates on the 14th July with fall of Bastille anniversary. For this occasion historical parades or ship contests are organised.
